Davy Brown creek was flowing, and many birds could be heard or seen while foraging in the lush vegetation or feeding their fledglings.

It was fun to observe Steller’s Jay and Northern Flicker fledglings around Nira Campground!

Grassland, riparian and woodland habitats are ideal for birding through Baron Ranch while admiring views and getting exercise!

Species observed during breeding season included Pacific-slope Flycatcher, Canyon Wren, House Wren and Violet-green Swallow.
