Winter Birding | Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park, CA

This post is about the 6th week class of 2020 Birds of the Santa Barbara Region: Intermediate.

Class met at the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park, then went to the Bluffs. 38 bird species were seen.

My first time seeing an adult Yellow-crowned Night Heron (YCNH) other than in Central America.

This YCNH counts birders to fall asleep.

A fluffy Song Sparrow insisted on singing to us.

On our way back, the Yellow-crowned Night Heron was still near the footbridge in the shade.
